Write the Book

Memoirs - Family Histories - Legacy Books - Business Histories

What Can We Do For You?

I have an idea, but I don't know how to begin the book writing process.

I want to write my book myself. I just need some guidance and feedback.

I already wrote my book, but I need help making it be better.

I have an idea, but no desire and/or time to write.

From Concept to Cultivation

Every great book begins with a solid foundation. Before you write a single chapter, we map out the core DNA of your concept. We establish the scope, define your target readership, and build a comprehensive structural blueprint so you never face a blank page without a plan.

PHASE TWO: GESTATION

This is where your book does its heavy growing. Armed with your blueprint, you will begin drafting your chapters. We establish steady bi-weekly writing milestones to keep you motivated and structured as your manuscript takes physical shape.

PHASE THREE: REFINEMENT

Once the draft is complete, it enters the refinement phase. Just like preparing for a major milestone, this stage is about smoothing out the rough edges, strengthening the narrative voice, and ensuring structural integrity.

PHASE FOUR: PREPARATION

When your manuscript is polished, it is time to prepare it for its first introduction to the industry. Whether you are pursuing traditional publishing or curated hybrid paths, we build the package required to make a stellar impression.

PHASE FIVE: THE DEBUT

The final stage is sending your completed work out into the world. We transition from creators to project managers, coordinating the final details necessary to give your book the best possible start in the competitive market.

Meet Your Book Doula

Erika Tynes-Winston has spent more than 25 years helping individuals and organizations successfully communicate their ideas, platforms and narratives. She began her writing career as a newspaper journalist reporting on politics, social and racial justice. After a detour into the practice of law, she returned to her love of writing and established herself as an accomplished ghostwriter and developmental editor.

With a client list that comprises entrepreneurs, celebrities, inspirational speakers, and corporate leaders, Erika’s portfolio includes personal memoirs, business memoir hybrids, and prescriptive books. She has ghostwritten five traditionally published books, along with numerous hybrid and self-published projects. Her book proposals have garnered high value offers from Simon and Schuster, Penguin Random House, John Wiley & Sons, McGraw Hill, and Hachette Book Group.

Erika understands the emotion and vulnerability that goes into writing. As a book doula, she honors that sacrifice by listening to your voice and collaborating with you to deliver your highest quality of storytelling into the world.

One of the hardest tasks that I have ever undertaken is taking what was in my head and getting it into written form. Erika helped me through the process, understood my voice, helped me transform my experiences in the right words and helped me get it all down in a way that was super authentic to me and helped me ensure that my lived experience was on every single page on my book.”

Client Voices

“From the moment I read her work, I wanted her to be a part of my journey. Her creativity, relentless commitment to excellence, and compassion ignited my already courageous and authentic voice throughout this book. Our partnership evolved into a friendship, and our bond will forever have a special place in my heart.”

Nellie Borrero

Author of Unwavering

This book wouldn't be possible without Erika. The "Me" part of this book would not be there if she did not push me to be vulnerable and share. I affectionately think of Erika as my doula. She really helped me to bring notes out in this story, and I will forever appreciate her for that.”
